Dot by Dot

Typography & Interaction design

This project draws inspiration from the patterns and structures found in nature, where elements like flower petal arrangements or snowflake formations create intricate designs. Using the Pointillism filter, I deconstruct and reconstruct self-created letterforms to illustrate this concept. By employing tiny, distinct dots to form a larger pattern, the filter highlights how individual points of color or light come together to create a cohesive image, mirroring the way natural patterns are formed from smaller units.

The project also combines design with creative coding. By using p5.js, a JavaScript library, I introduce randomness into the design process, adding variability to the placement and color of the dots. This approach not only enhances the visual complexity but also emulates the unpredictable nature of patterns in the natural world.
